On Wednesday, February 01, 2012, at appriximately 1523 hours, Quincy Police responded to the area of 24th and State in reference to a possible attempted child abduction investigation. Officers spoke with a 9 year old child who reported that 2 males in a white truck attempted to lure him into their vehicle. Officers immediately checked the area in an attempt to locate the truck, but were unsuccessful. At appriximately 2130 hours, after reportedly reading numerous Facebook comments regarding this incident, the driver and passenger of this vehicle voluntarily came to the Quincy Police Department to speak with officers about what had happened. Both were interviewed by police, and it was determined that nothing criminal had occurred. This investigation is complete and no arrests were made.
